High Performance Plumbing: Best Plumbing Practices by Roadrunner Performance
Plumbing leaks on racing hose fittings are an annoyance at the least. Take several steps to ensure that your newly built hoses don’t leak, whether they are vacuum lines, oil lines, coolant lines or lines for other fluids. Ensuring the ends are clean before you assemble the lines, and then ensuring the fittings are clean before installation goes a long way in ensuring that you won’t have any leaks.
Automotive Performance Parts
When you purchase automotive performance parts from Roadrunner Performance to construct your hoses, you have taken another step in minimizing leaks from other poor-quality hoses and fittings. When ordering hoses, be sure to specify the type of hose you need. It does make a difference. You don’t want to use vacuum hose to make a gas line. Hoses for different applications are made with different materials that are resistant to the fluids they are carrying. Some hoses are lined with PTFE (Teflon) for racing applications.
The hoses are also lightweight and strong so that they don’t add unnecessary weight to the vehicle and so that they are less likely to wear during the rigorous racing you demand of it. And, the application also dictates the thickness of the hose. Some have a single layer and some have multiple layers.
We carry stainless steel braided hose, nylon braided lightweight hose, push lock hose and PTFE hose. We also have several fittings including straight fittings, full flow swivel hose fittings, anodized push on hose fittings and anodized PTFE hose fittings.
